Vetcations Backstory
Hi I'm Heather and PTSD has touched my life from a very young age. My father was a retired Coast Guard Commander who suffered with PTSD. He committed suicide when I was in my early 20's. My mother's second husband, a Marine Veteran, also suffered with chronic PTSD; nightmares, mood swings and depression. Now the love of my life copes daily with his PTSD. He is a Native Air Force Veteran.
When Joseph and I reconnected, after over 30 years apart, we made a commitment to each other to help our brother and sister Veterans and their families. That's why we formed Vetcations. We know first hand the healing power of Mother Earth.

Currently we offer vacations in the San Rafael Swell, which is located in the heart of beautiful Utah. Veterans can choose from either a mountain retreat or a high dessert excurtion.

Many of our Veterans have jobs that do not offer PTO (paid time off) With more than 60% of Americans living pay check to pay check just taking time off isn't a possibility. For those Veterans we would like to supplement their income for the week of their vacation. This will require financial donations to cover this.

We are going NATIONWIDE
We believe this is needed outside of every major city in the USA. There are National Parks or other camping facilities available within a 3 hour drive of every city. Help us bring this everywhere its needed. We are committed to hiring Veterans across the county. Each camping location will have a Veteran to run it.
